Financial Services/Insurance Cluster

The Financial Services and the Insurance Cluster is a major employment sector in the state and in Hamden. Almost 9% of the state's total employment is in the finance and insurance sector, making it the highest of all Connecticut clusters and 2nd highest among all states. Connecticut also ranks #1 in insurance jobs per capita in the United States. Connecticut is known for it's high industry production value, with it being about 70% higher than the national average and double the average for all of the state of Connecticut industries.
