Liberty Bank Opens New Branch in Hamden
Liberty Bank Opens a New Branch in Hamden
On Monday, October 27th, Liberty bank held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its Hamden branch. The bank is located at 2518 Whitney Avenue, next to the Mount Carmel Post Office.
Liberty Bank is Connecticut’s oldest mutual bank, first opening in 1825 and has over $3.5 billion in assets. Part of the reason why they have such a longstanding history and place in Connecticut is because of their commitment to community involvement and personal service. According to the President and CEO of Liberty Bank, Chandler J. Howard, the bank is about “building relationships, being a partner, and committing ourselves to doing what’s right for our customers, our employees, and our communities, over the long haul.”

At the opening, Howard revealed that the bank will set aside $5 million to write fixed-rate mortgages at a one-half percent rate discount for Hamden home buyers with the intent to “stimulate the Hamden real estate market, and help prospective home owners lower their monthly mortgage expense.”
Adding to their generosity, the bank also allocated a total of $5,000 in grants from the Liberty Bank Foundation to five Hamden-area nonprofit agencies: Rotary Club of Hamden, Hamden Youth Services Bureau, Hamden Community Services, Hamden Public Schools, and Hamden Family Resource Center.
Looking forward, continued service and involvement in the Hamden community can be expected from Liberty Bank. Liberty Bank in Hamden can be contacted at (888) 570-0773. Or you can visit their website at www.liberty-bank.com.
