Hello Boutique Relocates to Hamden
Hello Boutique Opens in Whitneyville
After decades in downtown New Haven, Hello Boutique has relocated to the beloved nearby Whitneyville neighborhood of Hamden. Situated between The Soup Girl and Whitneyville Market in a brick building with a simple storefront, A store with special clothing and desirable accessories from around the world, Hello Boutique is owned by husband and wife team Greg Catalano and Kristen Herman, who are Hamden residents.
Hello Boutique converted the former First Niagara Bank at 1246 Whitney Avenue into a boutique with warehouse and photo studio and have exposed antique tin ceilings, knocked down walls, and are re-purposing fixtures for a warm and functional space. Upon entering the store, Hello Boutique’s shiny industrial copper fixtures create a context with which the American, French, Dutch and Japanese lines can exist within the intimacy of the environment. Two dressing rooms are nestled in a cozy nook off to the side of the store. Labels such as Porto, Planet, Alembika, Bryn Walker, Flax and Moyuru mingle with wood tables, plants and friendly sales help. The basement houses a white-painted photography studio designed for maximal light. There is a raw yet eclectic simplicity to the 2,000-square-foot space.
“I am very pleased to see yet another small business choosing to call Hamden home. The Whitneyville community is a great area to set-up shop, and I am sure Hello Boutique will add quite a bit of flair to the neighborhood. Hamden is constantly attracting new, unique businesses to our communities and Hello Boutique is certainly one of a kind. I wish Kristen and Greg the very best as they settle into their new location!” commented Mayor Curt Balzano Leng.
To those inclined to shop from home or browse before heading to the store there is always www.helloboutique.com, the thriving website where consumers can peruse new pieces from favorite designers. Hello Boutique is so excited to embark on this adventure and looks forward to becoming a hub for fashion, community and connection.
