Centerville Lumber Redevelopment Moves into a New Phase

2/27/2018

Things are starting to take shape on the overall redevelopment of the former Centerville Lumber site by Jordan Development . The first building will be completed in May of 2018. Amity Physical Therapy will move from the rental space across the street to owning this 32,000 S.F. new facility. APT will soon bring over 20 employees with them and create new opportunities for employment.

“We are so pleased to see the health care market continue to flourish in Hamden. It has been the largest growth market for many years and will continue to be that way”, stated Dale Kroop, Director.

The site work for the front portion of the development site has been completed in the fall of 2017, with parking being completed for Amity Physical Therapy.

In the front, the former strip center which used to include the (former) Brandmen Paint has been partially demolished to make way for the construction of a new casual, take out restaurant which will be completed in the summer of 2018.

In the rear, building permits were recently pulled by the contractor for the 115 room, Marriot Residence Inn Hotel and small conference center. This project will be completed in the summer of 2019.

“I am very excited by the progress Jordan Development has made on the old Centerville Lumber site. Hamden’s small business community is steadily growing, and this new location will only add to investor interest in our great Town. I wish Amity Physical Therapy all the best in their move, and I look forward to visiting the new restaurant and other facilities once they open!” said Mayor Curt Leng.

The total investment in this development will contribute considerably to the Hamden tax base, create new jobs and promote the tourism industry in Hamden.  This property was previously sold by Steven Press from Press Cuozzo Realtors of Hamden in 2016.
