Community Liaison Hired for Newhall/Highwood Remediation Project
COMMUNITY LIAISON HIRED FOR NEWHALL/HIGHWOOD REMEDIATION PROJECT
The Hamden Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) is pleased to announce that it has hired Evolution Enterprises to serve as the Community Liaison during the cleanup of waste fill in the Newhall/Highwood neighborhood which is set to begin in August of 2010. Evolution Enterprises LLC is operated by Richard Pearce.
The Community Liaison is being funded by the State of Connecticut, and the Town of Hamden in accordance with the Consent Order signed in 2003. The Community Liaison will provide ongoing information to and from residents of the Newhall/Highwood neighborhood and project staff. Mr. Pearce will have an office presence in the community and provide information about opportunities for financial and other services available to those participating in the Remedy Plan and others affected by it.
Mr. Pearce has served many roles in the Hamden community and with the Hamden Economic Development agencies. Mr. Pearce has served in many management and leadership roles including but not limited to management of the Hamden Business Assistance Center, the Vice President/Regional Community Reinvestment Act Officer for Fleet Financial Group, Inc., Finance Director of the City of West Haven and several other positions related to an entrepreneurial mission.
Mr. Pearce, a Hamden resident, also has served on many community and professional boards such as Empower New Haven, New Haven Family Alliance, Regional Workforce Board, Regional Growth Partnership, the Economic Development Commission and the Hamden Economic Development Corporation. These experiences have enabled Mr. Pearce to work well with diverse people from diverse backgrounds, municipal and statewide agencies and local stakeholders.
